MEET THE BOARD
President:
Deja manages organizational administration, community partnerships, fund development, and staff and board training at Styling Futures Co.; Inspired by her childhood experiences volunteering with her family, including participating in Atlanta’s Josea Feed the Hungry charity drive, she was moved by the sight of hairstylists and barbers providing grooming services to those in need. This experience ignited her desire to make a difference in the community. Deja earned her Master Cosmetology License from Gwinnett Technical College in 2018 and has worked professionally in the hair industry since then. Her passion for both hair and community service led her to establish a foundation that fosters growth, love, and self-care for the future leaders of our world.
Vice President:
Ericka Lasley is a seasoned healthcare educator with over two decades of experience in Radiologic Sciences, and she is deeply committed to advancing education and professional development within non-profit organizations. Ericka's previous roles, including her tenure as Program Director, highlight her ability to lead transformational projects within resource-constrained settings, such as transitioning programs to digital platforms and securing vital funding through grants. Her work extends beyond the traditional classroom as she actively engages with professional societies, contributes to national discourse through lectures and committee service, and mentors the next generation of healthcare professionals. Ericka's strategic vision, operational expertise, and passion for education make her an invaluable addition to the Styling Futures Co., Board of Directors, where she can drive meaningful change and support the organization's mission to serve the community.
Treasurer:
Annessa Gaskins-Spearman is a dynamic fashion industry professional with over a decade of experience in retail and customer service. Her innovative mindset and extensive network of designers underscore her expertise and commitment to the field. Passionate about giving back to the community, Annessa aligns perfectly with the mission of the Styling Futures Co., which empowers children in foster care and lower-income communities through self-care, mentorship, and cosmetology education. Her experience with high-profile accounts and her dedication to community service make her an ideal fit as our Treasurer, where she will play a pivotal role in advancing our goals of fostering self-love, confidence, and positive impact through our programs.
Secretary:
Brianna Jackson is a caring and passionate board member with a strong passion for healthcare. She brings over 10 years of experience that encompasses providing direct patient care to diverse populations in addition to managing healthcare professionals within a corporate system. Her dedication for others goes beyond the hospital and reaches the communities that surround it. She believes in fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community members, to collaboratively achieve the mission of Styling Futures Co., Brianna is committed to ensuring that the organization remains aligned with its mission while navigating the challenges of the nonprofit sector. Brianna is eager to leverage her skills in advocacy to further the goals of Styling Futures Co. and is dedicated to contributing to a team that shares her same dedication to making a meaningful difference.
